Since 1966 the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick has led the fight against heart disease and stroke right here in New Brunswick. Our mission is to promote health, save lives and enhance recovery. In collaboration with ResearchNB, we are pleased to announce a call for cardiovascular research proposals. The objective of the endowment is to build health research capacity in New Brunswick. All four pillars of research (bio-medical, clinical, health systems and population health) are eligible.

There will be two awards of $40,000. Applications that will benefit the understanding, prevention, treatment or management of cardiovascular disease are solicited. New Brunswick-based health researchers (either university or hospital based) eligible to receive institutional funding, are invited to apply.

The application deadline is April 8, 2024

Cardiovascular Research Endowment Fund

With your help, Heart & Stroke New Brunswick can ensure researchers throughout the province have access to sustainable funding.

Recognizing the integral role research plays within our healthcare system, the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick (HSFNB) established the Cardiovascular Research Endowment Fund in 2017. The endowment is focused on providing sustainable ongoing funding, to facilitate capacity building for those conducting cardiovascular research within New Brunswick.

In 2020, HSFNB partnered with the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation (NBHRF) to equally co-fund two projects annually, in the amount of $40,000 each.

By investing in health research, we are helping attract and retain high caliber physicians and scientists, creating better health outcomes by employing the latest research results in clinical practice, while contributing to economic growth through well-paid jobs and infrastructure.
