Get To Know Your Bingo Team

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

Heart and Stroke NB Bingo is comprised of many moving pieces and people! You may hear the odd remark of the crew behind the camera on a Bingo Monday, but what actually goes on behind the scenes?

The Bingo crew alternates regularly, we are grateful to have volunteers to help with the phone calls and our tech-wizards on speed dial each week. Bingo runs for about an hour every week but behind the scenes, it's dozens of hours a month. The Bingo team works extremely hard to bring you a great experience every week, and we figured it was time you met them!

How long have you been with the Foundation?

I have been with the Foundation for 5 years.

What is your favorite part of Heart and Stroke NB Bingo?

My favorite part of Bingo…is working with a great team, calling the balls, announcing winners, meeting Bingo players, cheque presentations…all of it!! The Monday buzz in the office is the best!

What is your role during Bingo?

I am the ball caller!

How does Heart and Stroke NB Bingo play a role in the lives of New Brunswicker’s?

Heart and Stroke NB Bingo has an important role in the community. Bingo has allowed us to spread our messaging and share our impact to an audience it might not have reached before. We are grateful for the support we have received. Just by playing Bingo people are making a difference! That is pretty cool to me!

How long have you been with the Foundation?

I have worked for HSFNB for a year and a half!

What is your favorite part of Heart and Stroke NB Bingo?

My favorite part of our Bingo would have to be when I get the opportunity to answer the phone for a Bingo winner. Being the first point of contact on for someone who just won a considerable amount of money is a rewarding experience.

What is your role during Bingo?

I have a few different areas I work on Monday nights. I alternate with Annie between working the computer and signaling to Meghan if there's a winner, the latter involves quite a bit of running! When I can, I answer incoming calls.

Something I don't know is common knowledge, is that the money from your Bingo purchase stays in New Brunswick. When someone plays Bingo, they are having a direct effect on our School Food Program, local research, and our ability to offer free health services to the public. Even if you don't win, you've made a donation and you're making a difference!

Firstly, our commercials educate NBer's about what we do, and secondly, Bingo raises funds to help us continue doing what we do!

I have been with the foundation for 11 years.

What is your favorite part of Heart and Stroke NB Bingo?

My favourite part of Bingo is seeing how happy people are when they win.

What is your role during Bingo?

I run the Bingo software computer. I am in charge of clicking the balls on the screen as Meghan calls them and I also verify our potential winners!

HSF Bingo is getting people more engaged with the Foundation and they are learning about what the Foundation does in the province.

Meghan, Nat, Annie, and Cathe are just a handful of the Monday night Bingo team. Bingo is not possible without the help of our volunteers and supporting coworkers! We hope getting to know the Bingo team brings you inside the heart of Heart and Stroke NB Bingo. Thank you!
